Quilter Heading Out, Again
Yep, not a huge announcement, but, I am on my way to the beach. The plan: leave by 9 a.m. Reality, not even close. Sigh. How old do I have to be to wake up in "Reality Land?" Do I ever really want to live there? NOT. I have visited there on occasion and I do not like it. Give me La La Land any day of the week. I have mentioned this place several times before. My door is open and the sheets are clean. Come see me any time. You are always welcome and you can stay as long as you like. Part of my world?--I actually think I am going to add to the Threads while I am on the beach. Stop laughing or I will lock the door...........

Exhausted Quilter
It is not complicated....I am tired, no, exhausted. We arrived home a couple of hours ago, parked the trailer, cleaned out the car, and got busy with shipping orders, and, well, I am heading for the Sack! More in a few.....

Playing in Paducah
O.K., so I know that I am supposed to be working, but, you tell me, how can this much quilt-related stuff, all in one town, could ever be in the same category as "work?". This place is heavenly in so many ways, on so many levels. The entire town supports this event. Quilts hang in the windows of nearly every shop and restaurant. Vendors are here from all over the world. The town, itself, is charming even without the quilt-related stuff. Of course, I have been adding to my stuff as quickly and as often as I can. When I get home, I have to figure out where to put my new stuff. Move over, other stuff, Momma's got some brand new bags.....

Dumb Quilter
Really, really, dumb quilter. Yep. The initial "D" no longer stands for "Dianne." From now on, it stands for "Dumb Dianne." What a doozie performance I gave, today. I ran about a dozen errands this fine day. Got a good bit accomplished. Feelin' pretty good about my day, about me. Then, "Pow, Pow," this quilter got slapped back into humbleness. My last errand involved going to the bank to get our traveling money. We sat there for what seemed like forever while the teller kept apologizing for taking so long. Friday with only one teller for three windows. Talk about dumb! Anyway, I occupied my time working one of my delightful Crossword puzzles.....finally, the money is shot down the tube. I drove off. Nearly home, I realized, OMG, I drove off without the $$. Need I say more??????????????

Addicted Quilter
My name is Dianne, and I am an addict. Sigh. Luckily, it is not drugs that is the root of my addiction. It is not alcohol. Based on my lack of productiveness, it does not seem to be sewing, either, at least not lately. What am I addicted to??? Code Crosswords. I discovered these in the process of feeding my previous addiction to Soduku. I started buying gamebooks based on how many Code Crossword puzzles were in them. Sometimes I paid five bucks for a magazine that only had five crosswords in them, then I would discard the rest of the book. Recently, I discovered there was an entire series of magazine out there devoted to these babies. I ordered the entire series. I am in Codeword Heaven. No more adding to the Threads while on the potty...hand me a pen and "the book."

Where is that Quilter????
Here I go, again, working on things that probably could wait. Hrmph. Who is making out that list, again? Oh, yeah, that would be I, heh heh. This project was officially moved to the top of the list. I have been on the computer for more than a week working on this series. Thus, the neglected Threads. sorry....
Whatchathink? I am seriously considering having this be part of my first line. Feedback would be terrific. This time, it needs to be not only from the heart, but, honest suggestions, particularly do you think you would actually purchase this? (Before I spend $10,000 per design !!!!)
I will post some others as I get to them. This might actually allow for moments to add to this Thread. After all, the potty is waiting, heh heh. I think I need to add better lighting to my new "office."

Wandering Quilter
Since the last time I added to this Thread, I have been to Alexandria, Louisiana, then on to Oberlin, LA, spent the night in Coushatta, Louisiana, drove over to Houston, Texas, then down to West Columbia, Tx, back to Houston, then back home. Whew. We left on Tuesday and returned on Friday. I actually took my I-pad with the best of intentions of keeping my whereabouts current, like anyone really cares anymore, sniff, sniff. I even took it with me to the potty. The problem with writing on the potty is that it takes time and my son and his wife have a one potty house. Enough said? My plans did not originally include all of that travel since I am madly trying to squeeze in preparing for Paducah. Also, I am supposed to be making cushions for Mother's birthday present, finish a wedding quilt, make new samples, placing orders, filling orders, ....well, you get the picture. I started a flower bed months ago with the intentions of finishing it before the weather got too cold. Now, I would like to complete it before the weather gets too hot. In the meantime, I am seriously considering printing my own fabric. I will need lots of feedback on this one, folks. Not only will I have to do tons of work to prepare for this, I would have to figure out where to store thousands of yards of fabric, then where and how to get it from rolls to bolts, then......I might need my head examined. I definitely need a manicure, now....and a pedicure.

Messy Quilter
I feel a lot like the character in Peanuts. I am referring to the one that leaves a dirty mess every where he goes. At least my stuff is not usually dirty. However, I do fit the MESS part. I come home to a beautifully clean house, thanks to our wonderful housekeeper, Soledad. We love her. Anyway, the house is spotless, then, we arrive home. It looks like an explosion. Burped right out of the car and into the house are dirty clothes, empty cartons (we hope), suitcases galore, souvenirs, food items, just stuff, stuff, and more stuff. It always looks like more stuff than we left with. To top it off, greeting us is a stack of mail that makes me want to run back to the car and drive to...well, anywhere that reality has not discovered.
Right now, we are busy starting the process all over, again. We are stuffing the car with our stuff--mostly so we can bring home new stuff to stuff in already stuffed rooms and closets. I need a manicure.......

NOT Quilting, Darn
Definitely not quilting right now. It seems like I say that more and more these days. We are in the process of replenishing our stock for the next show. Actually, before that, I am heading down to Alexandria, Lousiana, on Tuesday for a bit of show and tell. The "tell" part always lasts longer than I plan. Again, I asked the meeting planner, "How long would you like the program to last?"
Silly gal. She innocently said, "Oh, about 30-45 minutes." As if that is gonna happen. Given the fact this talk is all about ME and Quilting..., well, I ask you..."How long would it take you to talk about your passion?" I figure I am doing well to keep it to a couple of hours and I still end up with sore shoulders from patting myself on the back for keeping it so short, heh heh. To top it off, they want a demo of one of the projects in the book. Wow, there goes the afternoon! Oh well, I love a good challenge and this will definitely challenge my abilities to get a lifetime into "30-45 minutes."
Have a wonderful Easter, a lovely weekend with those who make you smile. This is my fat free, sugar free gift to you....

April Showers means more Quilting
Well, at the least, April showers mean I am inside rather than outside. There is the potential for quilting and quilt related fun. I am still playing on the computer. How about another peep, I mean peek, (too much Easter candy on the mind, heh heh -- I love Peeps) at another design?
The Quilter and the Easter Bunny
I found out you can learn a lot from the Easter Bunny. Things like, "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket." "You can never have too much sugar" (all right, so I heard this one from John Travolta in Michael), "It is always a good thing to have a friend with good ears." "You can get away with a lot if you have a cute tail." " It is good idea to know the name of a great mechanic." (Oh, I just threw that one in because my car needs work....)
Anyway, Have a Great Easter weekend and try not to eat all of your goodies at once--save some for a rainy day...or a sunny day, just enjoy!
Please do not forget my Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I have raised a whoppin' 1% of my funds. Here is a link: Pleeeeeeese help Dianne with her Breast Cancer fund-raising. She is getting desperate!!!!!

Even Quilters Need Sleep
I keep telling myself that I will be healthier and I can keep my weight down if I sleep at least 8 hours each night. Well, I just better get used to lousy health and being FAT because I just cannot seem to sleep much these days. I got three hours last night. However, I am getting quite a bit done. Check out the new fabric design. Of course, I have not gotten anyone to print the others so what am I wasting my time on this for? Because I wanna.
