New Fabrics New Quilts

YiPPPPEEEEE. I am now officially allowed to tell the Whole Wide World (is that where www. comes from???) that Timeless Treasures is ready to introduce my new line of fabrics. "I Dream in Color" will be a part of the sales force's offerings to the shops, to the public, as of this week. Wooooo woooo. BFF's get out your wallets, clear up those credit cards, and CHARGE out to your local quilt shops, your not-so-local quilt shops, to online shops, ......you know how to do this. Let's make Dianne Springer a household word. HAHAHAHAHA. Cute. Seriously, I would love it if you would help spread the word. It would be beyond embarrassing to me if Timeless Treasures had to end up using my fabrics as packing material.

Quilts are calling...

So many quilting projects are calling....I think they must have the wrong number ! Argh.

The List of quilting projects just keeps growing. Uh-oh. I think we have already discussed, numerous times, the problems with items on "the List." Let's don't even go there. I need deadlines. Yeah, that's it.
It seems that stress is the power behind my heart beating, behind my breathing, my motivator. The things I can accomplish with a deadline.

Right now I need a deadline for this cold to end. I have been coughing for days. It feels like I am going to tear something loose inside. At this point it would be an improvement.

You can see that I have been working on new designs. Hmm, anyone out there see a connection here? New designs? NOT QUILTING??????? duh. This baby is called, "Make a Roux"

Quilt Show #2

Heading out, tomorrow, to Jefferson, TX, for the "Quilts on the Bayou" show. This is such a delightful town. Very quaint. Almost like a mini version of Paducah. Lots of sweet cottages line the streets. Lovely little shops to entertain you. One of the best places is the sandwich shop that serves sandwiches made with cornbread. Yummie!!!! Definitely worth the trip. So, if you do not hear from me in the next couple of days, think of me smiling and wiping cornbread crumbs off my unplucked chin. (Hey, I have been way too busy....you saw the photo )

The Quilters Return

Did ya miss us? There we (I) was, all panicked and stressed over the potential weather conditions while heading north to Oklahoma. Little did I know that the real stress would be the show, itself. Bummer. I met lots of great folks, but that does not pay the piper. This show could not be classified as a success, that is for sure. I am all the more thrilled to be back home in the arms of my darling hubby. He always has a smile on his face and a song in his heart for me. Can you imagine being married to a guy who says he married his "fantasy???" How great is that? Never, am I ever, going to let him buy a pair of glasses, heh heh....

More fun news, while we were gone, my fabric arrived from Timeless Treasures. Now I really need to get busy working on a quilt design for them to give away with the fabric. AS soon as I get it done -- PICTURES ! Gotta go.

Quilters? or, Idiots?

Well it might just prove to be too much to ask to decide between "Quilter" and "Idiot" so I suppose we can be both?? I mean what idiots head NORTH in January??? Hey, I just answered my own question. We are not idiots we are quilters heading to a quilting event. We could be quilters heading to a family event. Either way, no idiots, just dedicated, focused, quilters doing whatever is necessary to get whatever is important to us, done. No task too difficult. No distance too far. No snowy, icy, slippery road too, um, too, um... Hmm. Let's just hope there is plenty of sand to go around, gulp.

Two Quilters on the Road

Hmmm. Let's make that, "Two Quilters who hope to stay on the Road." There is still ice and snow out there so I hope we are not being stupid as we drive North, for gosh sake. Even I cannot believe I agreed to do a show, in February, in snow country. Gulp. Say a little prayer......Oklahoma City, here we come, I hope, I hope....

Quilter's Paradise

This is what our yard looked like yesterday. Today, there is a little more snow on the ground. In Louisiana, this kind of weather stops just about everything. The miracle: we still have electricity, at least, so far. So, so far, it is a Quilter's Paradise. How could it be much more perfect? We are iced in, and, have electricity and fabric!!!! What on earth am I doing at the computer?!!?? See ya.

A Quilter's Photo

Well, I decided that instead of redirecting you to my new image on the Timeless Treasures website that I should just simply post the picture here. I told you guys that I hated pictures of me. Now we will see who my BFF's are.....

A Quilter, AKA BFF

Yea, at least one of my BFF's (Barbara) supports my "photos should be banned" theory. She informed me that it is actually illegal to post images after the subject passes her 29th year. Hey, it takes a Herculean effort to refrain from drugs just so I can put on make-up. Perhaps we could include mirrors in the ban? Nah. I need one to tweeze the chin hairs. sigh......

How about another fabric?"Mr. Fixit"

Quilters Beware

I am giving fair warning. Someone out there is about to publish a picture of me. I hate pictures of me. Anyone who says, "Oh, that is such a terrific picture of you. It looks just like you," is, officially, no longer my friend. My friends say, "Dianne, that does not even look like you. You are sooo much prettier in person. " BFF. (of course, that could also stand for "Big Fat Fibber," but I don't care!!!!)

As soon as the picture is published, I will place a link on this blog and then find out who my BFF's really are. You know who you are. You do not have to have even seen me in real person. Not if you are really my BFF.

How about another unworthy fabric design from the "Thistle Do It" collection?

New Fabrics?

I do seem to recall promising that I would publish new fabric designs. This group is called, "Thistle Do It." Again, I should warn you before you waste your time, these are some more of the Unworthies. Oh well, I liked them.... any input is appreciated, um, at least any input that is nice, complimentary, positive, loving, kind, ect., etc., heh heh.

Back but not yet Quilting

Whew, we are finally home. We actually got home late Friday from our Mothers' homes. However, we immediately left for Shreveport. We spent the last two days in the freezing (27 degrees last night) weather, working on our daughter's deck. We are trying to get the deck done so we can get the house ready to sell this Spring. Isn't that the story for so many? I mean, finally get the "gonna-get-to's" done so someone else can reap the benefits? I am considering having a little contest to see who can guess how many weeks/months/years (gulp) it will take to sell our daughter's home. Fingers crossed that it sells quickly so we can get out from under these payments. Sigh. We did have so much fun building it. We put down all of the flooring except for the two rooms with carpet. We even went "vertical" on some of the tile when we decided to tile the entire front of the fireplace. Heck, the contractor wanted to hire me, heh heh. I also sandblasted a design into a five foot window, made all the drapes, bedspreads, glass knobs, a light fixture, chair covers, pillows, etc, etc, etc. It was a labor of love...a gift to our kids. Sadly, the time has come to put that behind us. The good thing, our daughter will be moving back to Ruston, closer to us. I do like that.

Oh, I am still hoping to post some images of some more fabric designs but I have to move them to my new computer, first. Like I know how to do that. Ha Ha Ha. Tom, I need you, again. No, no, honey, not for that, for the computer, really.
