Cincinnati Quilt Show

OK, so I could not help myself. I just wanted to check in and say a little hi.. We spent the night with my 92 year old mother on the way to Cincinnati. It was terrific seeing her and her sweet husband, Gene. He takes such good care of her. Mother and Gene's house is, um, interesting. I love to see homes that have a definite character, one that reflects the owner. Well, her house not only reflects her, it owns her. zzzzzzzzzzzz

Hmm, I am exhausted. --zzzzzzzz----- I am falling asleep at the keyboard. So, hopefully, I will get a chance to gab more later. Night night.

Two Quilters on the Road

Hmmm. Let's make that, "Two Quilters who hope to stay on the Road." There is still ice and snow out there so I hope we are not being stupid as we drive North, for gosh sake. Even I cannot believe I agreed to do a show, in February, in snow country. Gulp. Say a little prayer......Oklahoma City, here we come, I hope, I hope....

The Quilt Shows are Coming

Oh my gosh. It is less than two weeks before I leave for a marathon trip for three back-to-back quilt shows. My friend, Gina, of Splinters and Threads, is going to drive here on Monday. On Tuesday we leave for Springfield, Missouri. Show No. 1. Then we head to Chicago, Illinois, for Show #2. Next, it is on to Paducah, Kentucky, for the Third Show. (That one got all CAPS because it is a BIG SHOW.) We are madly trying to get everything done before we head out.

But, before we go on the Quilt Trip, we head to Alabama to help our Mother celebrate her 91st birthday. My challenge there is to make two twin bed dust ruffles before we leave the following weekend. Stressed is not even close to a description. Sleep is only a word in the dictionary.

I will try to report on our sights and sounds as we move from state to state. Please stop by if you are attending any of these shows. I LOVE to meet new friends. Please do not forget to help with our fundraising efforts for our 60 MILE walk. I will continue to place the link for the BREAST CANCER 3-DAY so you can donate.

Cotton Corner Quilt Show

As usual, I have a list....right at the top of the list is "preparing for the Cotton Corner Quilt Show in West Monroe, LA," held this weekend. If you have read any of my other Threads, you can probably predict where I am heading with this. As usual, I have been avoiding anything that even hoped to make it to my list. I have been working on more fabric designs and I just started another basket. Since I am a newbie to this version of blogging, I will have to check and see how to add images. My "image-maker, a.k.a, husband, just left this afternoon for New Orleans. Yikes, I am on my own, gulp.

As for the progress on my fabric designs, I just got my first rejection. I submitted my babies to Blank Quilting and they kindly told me, "Thanks, but no thanks." Today, I emailed them to Clothworks. How about I keep you up to date on my list of rejectors/rejections. I expect the list will grow like Jack's beanstalk....very quickly. I definitely gotta get some big girl panties because I am going to need them -- rejection brings out my inner child for all to see.
