Yep, I almost missed a day. It is now four minutes to midnight so I will hurry and say, "Hi," and try my best to squeeze in something before it is tomorrow. Let's see....
1. I am working on a silk quilt. I will post images in a day or so.
2. Today I walked eight miles and my butt hurts.
3. I made a terrific coffee cake tonight. The weird thing was that I was missing several ingredients so I did a lot of substituting and the amazing thing? It turned out great.

Quilter Quandry
Hmm. I am thinking that if I try to add to this Thread every day you guys are gonna get awfully bored. I mean, I can talk. I can always talk.
Several years ago, one of my girlfriends needed a ride to see her family in North Carolina. Thinking it was a day's drive, I said, " I'll give you a ride." I forgot that the last time I drove there, I lived in Alabama, DUH. Anyway, that is another story. Part of the fun while there involved spending the night in a sleezy hotel on the beach and then going boating/skiing/picnicking the next day. There we were, my girlfriend, her brother and his wife, another girlfriend, and myself, all in the same room. The next day, my friend's brother remarked,"Wow, she even talks in her sleep." So, see? I can always talk. Perhaps next time I will actually have something of interest to say.

Quilter Improving
My goal is to add to the Threads every day. I am such a good girl in my imaginary world, heh heh. Anyway, even if I just say, "Hi," I am gonna let you know that I am thinking of you guys and trying to let you know just that. Got tons of errands to do, mostly send out what little $$ I just made so I will be back in the red where I apparently feel at home. NOT. I normally love RED but it seems that the only place I see it these days is in my checkbook. :-(

The Quilter Returns
Wow, I checked the stats and found there are actually folks out there who are definitely my BFF's. You are still loyal enough to continue to check in on me totally without reward. That is amazing and makes me smile, big time.....Kiss kiss kiss.
Brandy and I have been in Arlington, Texas, at the Martha Pullen Show. I cannot say it was the most successful show we have done this year but it was still fun. I shared my new fabric designs to the general public and got grrrreat response. How can that NOT be fun? The only sad part was we came home to a yard full of sad plants. Very sad plants. After all that work on the flower beds, even the automatic watering system that we installed was not enough. Of course, we set the timer and left for a week. We do not even know if it worked. Such trusting folks are we...apparently such suckers. Dried arrangements in the flower beds do not work for me. Sigh......now, the reason I only got two hours of sleep the night before we left--a new trash can for my powder room. Yea, I am delighted.

Happy Father's Day
Hope all of you are enjoying a great day with your fathers or the one you made into a father. By the way, the father-of-my-children loved his basket and thanked me appropriately. Now, we are both smiling.

Designing Woman - aka, "A Quilter"
Geez. I have been designing fabrics like I actually had a real job doing that. No, wait, if it was a regular job, I would get some time off, wouldn't I? I mean, I slept exactly one hour in the last 44 hours. At least if I were going to that fictional job, the doors would close at five and then I would be kicked out and told to "Go home, now. We will see you in the morning."
My mornings usually start with, "OK, today I am going to .....well, before I get started on that, I think I will just go look at what I was working on last night. Hmmm, if I just tweak this part, that should not take long......" and voila, hours, and hours, and hours later, I am still sitting at the computer. Grrreat. Another addiction. The problem is, I love my addictions. It is not like I am biting my fingernails, or drinking, or gambling. My addictions? Sewing, knitting, lampworking, painting, creating fabric designs, quilting, yada yada yada....Eating/drinking, sleeping, peeing--are just not on that list. It does work pretty well since I found that if I do not eat or drink, I do not need to pee, anyway. And, if I do not sleep, I get more time for my addictions.
There is just one teensy weensy issue that I have trouble resolving between what I do and that "real job" thingie, I would actually get a paycheck at the end of the week. I think that the luckiest folks in the world are the ones whose actually get paid for their addictions. Maybe some day????????????
How about another fabric design?

Quilter on Strike
Hrumph. I asked for comments on the fabrics, you guys. You failed me. Not one single person said, "Yuck, I would never buy these if they were the last fabrics on earth"....or, "I would go naked and cold before I would use these designs next to my gorgeous bod," ...or, "WOW, if I cannot have these designs, I quit sewing!!!!!!"
SOMETHING. So, I stopped writing for a while...maybe forever. Oh, here are some more designs for you to not comment on....

Quilter? Designer? Either?
What a Notion Vari-Color Spools |
What a Notion Spools |
What a Notion Pins |
What on earth am I doing these days? All I can say is it was not such a good idea that I tore up the List. I don't know what to feel guilty about if I cannot see what I am avoiding. What was on that List? What am I supposed to be worrying about? Great, now I am even more worried than ever. Whatever....
How about a peek at what I have been doing for the last several weeks. First, I will say what I tried to say in an earlier Thread--I NEED feedback. Maybe you thought I was kidding earlier. NOT. I am about to hock the house on this new venture. What do you guys think of these babies?

Quilter Attacks List
The List |
I already know the first thing that is going on my new List. It will be "Plant more flowers like the ones here in front of my studio." These guys are great. No watering, no digging holes, no fertilizing, no opportunity to kill these babies with too much or too little water, no worries about too much or too little sun, no bringing them in when the weather gets too cold
Hmmm, this is sounding more and more like I am still dreaming. Sheets, here I come.
